Make a simple motor at home !!

Here's a fun motor you can make in a few minutes. You need a 1.5 Volt battery (AA or AAA), two safety pins, some tape, a small magnet, a foot of wire, some nail polish, and some Post-it Notes.

1. Tape the two safety pins to the battery as shown.
2. Wrap the wire into a coiled loop as shown. Strip the insulation off the ends of each wire so that the wire comes into contact with the safety pins.
3. Before you put the coiled loop of wire into the holes in the safety pins, apply a bit of nail polish to the top of both sides of the exposed wires. Leave the bottom of each wire unpainted. This will allow the wires to make an intermittent electrical circuit with the battery, which will make make it spin.
4. Use a pad of Post-It Notes to raise or lower the magnet so that it is as close as possible to the loop of wire without touching it.
5. Give it a spin and watch it go!

The Social Network Movie

The Social Network or what's known as Facebook Movie should be coming to theaters in October.

Happy Town

Happy Town is a new TV series from ABC. I've watched 3 episodes so far and the show is superb. It's one of the shows you get hooked on after the first episode.

Sadly, rumors have it that the show will be stopped after its 8th episode where they will finish the show and reveal the mystery. It's not confirmed yet as ABC hasn't mentioned anything about stopping the show.

Eye-Fi

Summer is here and it's time for new games, movies and all sorts of gadgets to come out of their hiding place.

A very interesting memory stick. It creates new extents to data saving and sharing.
I don't know how long it has been around but I know they should make an Eye-Fi CF card.

Facebook enhances privacy control

We've been hearing about facebook's effort in increasing the privacy of its users without downgrading the Facebook experience.
Zuckerberg (founder and CEO of FB) released a new post on his blog about the new privacy options in the website.

I personally haven't tried it yet but from the video it seems that nothing has changed except for the control side.

Lost in Lost?

So, if you're a Lost fat you probably have seen the finale by now. If you're planning on watching the show, this a spoiler warning although I advise you not to watch it if you don't want to waste your time.

Just like myself, many people were very disappointed with the way they ended the show. "and they lived happily ever after" wasn't the ending everyone expected, especially not with the questions left unanswered!

- what do pregnant women have to do with the island and why can't people give birth?

- why was Jacob's mom on the island and if that continues does anyone know who the first protector was?

- what did Hurley's number have to do with the island?

- Who built the statues?

- How did electromagnetism turn Jacob's brother into smoke?

- Why wasn't Walt there in the finale?

- why wasn't jin and sun baby at the end, when claire's baby was?

You can come up with a dozen more mysteries left unsolved. Makes you think that they had to end the show immediately. What a waste of what used to be an intelligent show!
